Art in Motion

When I started professional photography over 12 years ago, I had many dreams about where my business would go. I never dreamed of all of the experiences and relationships I would build. One dream was to photograph dance in some way, being that dance was my first passion in life. I grew up in a dance studio and continued dance in college.

To photograph dancers, it is important to understand the technique, motions, and genres to be able to photograph the grace and beauty of the art. It is much different than a standard portrait session in posing to capture the true essence of the dancer and their talent.

I am gearing up for year 4 of dance recital costume sessions. These are my most favorite sessions every year! I wanted to take a pause before the "busy" begins to be grateful and stay grounded. This was one of my dreams many years ago, and it now is my reality that I will be forever grateful for. I also want to take a moment and recognize the beautiful dancers and their families as they make it all possible for me to continue. Thank you to All About Dance for continuing to believe in what I do.

Thank you and give some love to these gorgeous dancers in their recital costumes (2020-2022).....a little reflection.

I would love the opportunity to grow my business in the creative field (dance and beyond) so please reach out if you have any ideas or questions. Also, this is my first blog post ever!!!! I will continue to work to be better at this.
